Leader in cloud integration expands services to consumers and businesses with eForms

Bedford, Texas—FilesAnywhere, a pioneer in cloud storage and collaboration since 1999, today announced the Beta release of FilesAnywhere eForms, a tool giving users the ability to collect and manage diverse data sets online.

In addition to guest Dropbox™ Links, FilesAnywhere is further distancing itself from cloud storage competitors by providing simple data entry form creation and data collection features for its customers. The addition of eForms allows account holders to create online forms, registrations, surveys, questionnaires, and more, without writing code or expensive third-party applications. The feature’s visual editor takes users through a simple, step-by-step process automatically constructing the functionality, database, and scripting necessary to assemble and read data in the background.

Users can easily generate personalized or branded templates with built-in components, including upload, download, listboxes, and all other traditional form controls. eForms also offers a complete set of graphical statistics and summaries based on responses received through the module. In addition, eForms contain advanced security measures and an export-friendly results feature that is spreadsheet ready for detailed analysis. eForm’s simple, link-based delivery reinforces the ingenuity and user-friendliness of the FilesAnywhere platform.

“Entire companies exist around the eForm concept with fewer features and less functionality,” says Shayne Mehringer, VP of Sales and Marketing at FilesAnywhere. “This enhancement is heads and tails above anything our competition has to offer. We’ve effectively increased the reach and scale of an already exceptional service.”

eForms allows home users to produce useful, instructive formats in a matter of minutes while business users enjoy resource reduction and save hours of valuable development time. FilesAnywhere customers can immediately begin using the Beta release eForm module to offer their own clients online forms, surveys, and registration.

Mobile Faxing That’s Easy and Free

Sound too good to be true? It’s not. You can ditch the old fax machine that takes up  five square feet of your desk or office and use your FilesAnywhere account to  fax from mobile devices instead.

Since 1999, FilesAnywhere has lead the charge to the cloud. Our online file hosting and web-enabled features were years ahead of their time and users loved the ability to fax documents from their accounts using just their computer and browser. Not only did the FilesAnywhere fax feature rival other online fax services in speed and efficiency, but the fax service cam free with each account. Something competitors  Last year, FilesAnywhere added mobile faxing to the ever growing list of enhanced features. Now FilesAnywhere users fax on the go using the mobile site or one of the free apps available for download from iTunes and the Android market.

Fax from Your iPhone or Android

Smart phones have changed the way we communicate and do business. We’re no longer tethered to desks or confined to wired networks. As cloud storage and file sharing innovators, FilesAnywhere makes it possible for account holders to view, send, and receive faxes with smart phones. Subscribers simply login for access to mobile faxing, including notifications and cover page options. Used in conjunction with other FilesAnywhere features, such as inbound email attachments and Dropbox™ Links, users can receive information on the go, and then fax it instantly to one or more people.

Fax from Your iPad

Making the transition from a fax machine to mobile faxing is as simple as picking up your iPad! Just as faxing with an iPhone, your documents are simply a few swipes away. Your FilesAnywhere account syncs seamlessly with your mobile devices, so all of your important documents are literally at your fingertips. Using the mobile site or iPad app, you simply login to your FilesAnywhere account and select the file you’d like to send.

The Benefits of Mobile Faxes

  • Save Paper, save energy! Document management is a constant struggle costing individuals and companies thousands of dollars every year. Did you know that by the time ink cost, energy cost, duplication cost, and man hours are figured into printing, paper costs as much as EIGHT times its original price? Mobile faxing is one way you can cut down on the costs to your wallet and the planet.
  • No worries about failed equipment or network outages. No matter what kind of failure occurs, you can always grab your phone, login to FilesAnywhere, and fax documents.
  • Nothing changes for those sending you a fax. Inbound faxing is available to paid accounts with at least two users, and users may receive an unlimited number of faxes each month. Businesses and individuals who send you faxes can continue using their method of choice while you receive your fax through the cloud.
  • You decide what to do with your data. If you receive a fax while you’re on the road or in a meeting, you can add it to GroupShare™ folders or fax to your team for immediate access.
  • It’s free! Mobile faxing is available on all accounts; however paid accounts have an almost unlimited number of outbound faxes every month (500 local or 100 international). There is no per-page or per-fax fee. With FilesAnywhere, it’s available at absolutely no cost.

Just how many acronyms and initialisms can one person handle? Oh, give yourselves some credit! If you live in the cloud, as most of us do, you’re bound to know at least a dozen. What’s one more? This week’s tip is all about FTPS.

No, we don’t mean SFTP. Though the initials are similar, the applications are not. FTPS offers another method of file sharing and uploading. There are two types FTPS, which are implicit SSL and explicit SSL. FilesAnywhere supports not only FTP and SFTP, but explicit and implicit FTPS. Read on for the riveting details…

First, What is SSL?

SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer, and it’s the standard technology used to encrypt information as it moves from server to browser and back. In fact, millions of websites use SSL to make sure customer transactions remain private and secure. Most folks will never need to know all the technical complexities at play in the background during SSL protocol. However, the vast majority know to look for the lock icon synonymous with SSL to know they’re protected.

FTPS Implicit SSL

Implicit SSL mode requires an established SSL session before any data is exchanged. SSL is implied because the server would simply reject an attempt by a non-SSL client. Got it? Good.

FTPS Explicit SSL

Explicit SSL allows the client to swtich between unencrypted mode and SSL. First, a non-SSL session is established with the FTP service, then a request switches the  session to SSL using a TLS command. Once the SSL is set up, user credentials and other information sent during the session are SSL encrypted. Still with me? Awesome.

Ports Aplenty

Ready to use your newly acquired FTP, SFTP, and FTPS prowess? Use the following port for each application:

  • FTP- Port 21
  • SFTP- Port 22
  • FTPS Implicit SSL- Port 990
  • FTPS Explicit SSL- Port 115

We’re always here to help, and support for your account is always free! If you have questions regarding FTPS, please don’t hesitate to contact our Support Team at (855) SYNC-NOW (855-796-2669).

We at FilesAnywhere think the ancient Greek philosopher Zeno had it right when he said we have two ears and one mouth for a reason. You asked for improvements, and we went right to work. Today we’re thrilled to announce the fruits of our labor (and your feedback). The beta release of the new web interface is live and we think you’re going to like what you see. To help you get around, here’s a quick overview of what’s new:

Sleek Modern Look

Welcome to FilesAnywhere 2.0! What can you expect? A clean, fresh appearance and the same great features, with some added benefits:

  • Extremely user-friendly with intuitive navigation
  • Tabbed page appearance allows for quicker file and feature access
  • View options include the traditional FilesAnywhere tree view, as well as new list and icon views
  • New profile menu and bonus options

Drag and Drop Capability

Uploading your files is an essential step to using FilesAnywhere, and it should be quick and intuitive. That’s why we’ve integrated the drag and drop feature in the new FilesAnywhere user interface. Though it might seem like a simple enhancement, we think you’ll agree it’s a powerful tool that makes your experience richer. Use the drag and drop feature with the following browsers seamlessly:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari

In addition, Internet Explorer 10 is slated for future releases.

You don’t need a third party application or coding capabilities to  create an online survey, questionnaire, or form. Easily create templates or individual forms with the eForms visual editor, and then distribute them with a link. Advanced eForm features include:

  • HTML code for embedding
  • Custom branding
  • Folder assignment
  • Enhanced security
  • Ability to accept uploads
How to Get to the New Web Interface
Ready to get started? Simply login to your account, select the Media View button, and then click the New Interface button on the right side of the screen. A quick note, while we’re in beta testing, the new interface is not available for mobile apps. If you’re using FilesAnywhere on your smart phone or other web-enabled device, you won’t see any changes.

As always, we welcome your thoughts! Give us your opinion on the new interface through the Feedback tab on the right-hand side of your page. You’re also welcome to talk to any of our helpful support representatives at (855) SYNC-NOW or

If you use the Otixo service, it now includes integration with FilesAnywhere! We are constantly looking for new integration partners to increase your work flow options in the cloud.

1. Within your Otixo account, when you select services to add, you will see the FilesAnywhere icon under the WebDAV option.

2. Clicking on it will then bring you to a screen asking you for a display name and inputting in your FilesAnywhere username and password.

3. Once that is done, you’ll see the FilesAnywhere icon on the left under ‘My Cloud Services’ with the display name. It’s very simple!

Once connected you have some of the functionality of FilesAnywhere, such as file sharing. You can right-click on your files and create File Share links. This initial integration doesn’t include the file history logging found in the FilesAnywhere web interface as well as security features like cover pages, verification texts, etc.

Since 1999 consumers and businesses have relied on FilesAnywhere for file uploads, file backup, data storage and file sharing on both their computer and mobile devices. FilesAnywhere and Otixo users now have even more options with using their data in the cloud. As the world becomes even more complex we will continue to try to simplify the way you store and share files!
